A first shoot almost always makes people nervous, but the nerves usually go as soon as the conversation starts. For a smooth start, it helps to prepare three things: what you wear, what you will say and how you get here. Here is what we tell everyone filming with us for the first time.
What to wear
- Solid colours look best. Fine stripes and small checks start to flicker on camera.
- Avoid large logos and lettering, unless they are your own brand.
- Choose a colour that stands out from the background, and clothes you can sit in comfortably for an hour or two.
- Bring a change of clothes. The studio has a make-up and changing area.
How to prepare for the conversation
- Write down 3-5 key points, not a full script: text read aloud sounds unnatural on camera.
- If you need to say something word for word, for an ad for example, the studio has a teleprompter.
- Agree on the topics and length in advance with the person you will be talking to.
- Think about how you will finish: a clear ending makes editing easier.
How the shoot works
When you arrive, the studio is already prepared: the operator sets up the lights, cameras and microphones. We check the sound together, agree on the shots and start. The operator works beside you for the whole recording, so you do not have to wonder whether everything is being recorded.
If you make a mistake, there is no need to start again: just repeat the sentence, and we will cut the unwanted part in the edit.
Getting here
- The address is P. Lukšio g. 5B, Vilnius. There is free parking by the building.
- The studio is on the lower ground floor, and a lift takes you down. The entrance is also accessible for people with reduced mobility.
- Arrive 10-15 minutes early so you do not have to rush.
- You can get ready and catch your breath in the kitchenette between takes.
After the shoot
Before editing, we agree on the style and note the parts to adjust or cut. You get the edited video within 3-7 working days, and one revision is free. There is more on our editing page.
