You need a film studio in Vilnius when the picture and the sound have to look the same every time, no matter the weather, the street noise or the neighbours in your office. In this guide we list what to check in practice before you book a studio, what filming at Record in Vilnius costs and when you do not need a studio at all.
When a film studio is really needed
A studio solves three things at once: quiet, light and repeatability. At the office or at home the first video often turns out fine, and the tenth one already looks different, because the weather outside the window has changed, so has the background, and so have the neighbours with their renovation. In a studio all of that is set once and reproduced at every shoot.
The most common jobs our clients come to the studio for: podcasts and interviews, video courses and training, ads, internal company videos, messages from the CEO to the team, product presentations and short content for social media. Photo shoots are possible in the studio too.
If you need to film a conference, a factory floor, a construction site or a conversation at your guest's own place, a studio is the wrong tool. In that case we come to you, which we describe on our on-location filming page.
What to check before you book
- Soundproofing. Ask where the studio is and whether you can hear the street, the neighbours and the ventilation. This matters more than the microphone model, because street rumble cannot be removed in editing.
- Whether the windows can be blacked out. If the light comes in from outside, a morning shot and an evening shot will not match, and continuing the shoot on another day will be hard.
- How many people fit at the table and how many microphones there are. A conversation with a guest needs a separate microphone for each person.
- Whether an operator is included in the price. This is the biggest difference between studio prices: renting a room by the hour and filming with an operator are two different services.
- Who edits, how long it takes and how many revisions are included.
- Whether you get the raw footage as well as the final video.
- Parking, the lift and access. If you are bringing equipment, decorations or a guest with reduced mobility, check this in advance.
- Whether there is a place to get ready and change, so that make-up does not have to happen on the set.
What a film studio in Vilnius costs
You will see two different kinds of prices on the market: renting a room by the hour, and filming with an operator. The first looks cheaper, but you have to add an operator, a sound person and editing on top. We have collected the official prices of other Vilnius studios separately, in our podcast studio comparison.
| Service | Price | What is included |
|---|---|---|
| Studio with operator, 2 hours | €200 + VAT | Studio, operator, up to 5 Sony cameras and all the equipment, no editing |
| Studio with operator, 8 hours | €600 + VAT | The same team and equipment for a full working day |
| Full Podcast | €400 + VAT | 2.5 hours of filming, editing and one Reel |
| Video editing | from €150 + VAT | Ads, training videos, reviews, vlogs |
| Shorts, Reels, TikTok | from €40 + VAT each | A short vertical video from existing footage |
| On-location filming, 2 hours | €400 + VAT | The same team and equipment at your place, plus €1 per kilometre both ways |
The minimum booking is two hours. The full price list, including live streams and services quoted on request, is on our pricing page.
What our studio has
- A space of about 50 m² at P. Lukšio g. 5B, on the lower ground floor in a courtyard, soundproofed, so city noise does not reach the recording.
- Up to 5 professional Sony video cameras and up to 4 podcast microphones.
- Audio and video boards, a monitor and a teleprompter for when text has to be read to camera.
- Three studio lights and four RGB LED lights. There are windows, but they can be blacked out, so the picture does not depend on the weather or the time of day.
- Furniture and decorations are arranged to suit your video. You are welcome to bring your own logo or branded items.
- A make-up and changing area, a kitchenette and Wi-Fi. The entrance, the lift and the parking are accessible for people with reduced mobility.
- An operator works throughout the shoot and is included in the price.
When we are the right fit, and when we are not
We do not rent the studio without an operator. If you have your own film crew and only need an empty room for an hour, we will be too expensive for you: look for studios that rent out space on its own.
We are also not a large sound stage. In 50 m² you will not build tall sets, park a car or stage a crowd scene. Our studio is built for a person in front of a camera: a conversation, a presentation, a course, an ad with one or a few faces.
We are the right fit when you want to turn up and talk, and leave the equipment and the editing to us. The operator watches the picture and listens to the sound throughout the shoot, so mistakes are caught on the spot rather than three days later in editing. You get the edited video within 3-7 working days, which we explain on our editing page.
How to book and how to get here
